Life of Lex.

My name is Alexis Brown, and I am a (super) senior at Wayne State University studying Media Arts. For the past seven years, I have dedicated myself to polishing my creative abilities. From the time I was a child, I've loved to paint, draw, and sing. As I grew, so did my passion for creative expression. I learned to produce beats, paint on canvas, write poetry, and when I got my first camera at 19, I began building a personal brand.

I placed my photography and poems on a portfolio website, but shortly after I decided that I wanted to share this platform with other artists. I recruited a team of writers, and assigned everyone a role. We began doing artist interviews with underground artists all over the city, wrote about music and general current events, provided mental health content, collaborated with other brands on events, and so much more. After operating for a few years, we branched off into a Podcast that was hosted on Oh So Radio. I was extremely proud, because I had never received any formal leadership training and was really learning as I went. I simply got tired of people telling me no, and wanted to create my own opportunities.

In the next year, I will FINALLY be graduating from Wayne State with a bachelor's degree in Media Arts & Studies, and hopefully preparing to attend Graduate School at Clark Atlanta University or Georgia Tech to obtain an MBA. From here, I want to continue to grow my business and open up creative facilities in urban communities all over America and possibly worldwide, starting with my hometown of Detroit.
